Tropical Storm Watches for NE Leeward Islands
05:10 PM EDT - 09 September 1999

Tropical Storm Floyd (on the verge of hurricane status), is now moving West North West and approching the islands. The storm may clip the islands and then continue on toward the WNW and eventually turn further north. Question is when (been here before, eh). We'll be watching this like a hawk and welcome any opinions on the intensity and future path of the storm.

WELL I DO NOT HAVE A GUESS AT THIS TIME ON THE
FUTURE TRACK OF FLOYD. HOWEVER, I JUST RECIEVED
THE 0000ZS MODEL RUN AND THE LBAR CONTINUES TO
SHOW A MORE WESTWARD TRACK THROUGH 72 HOURS.
THE GFDL 18ZS RUN SHOWS A ALMOST DUE WEST TRACK
ALONG 24.0 DEGRES NORTH BETWEEN 48 AND 72 HOURS.
WHILE THE OTHER MODELS I'VE SEEN GIVES A MOSTLY
NORTHWEST HEADING. WHO KNOWS?

Still way too early to venture a guess on Floyd. According to the TPC, GFDL, LBAR and AVN Bend him to the west after 48 hours, but for how long is the question. UKMET runs have been turning him north farther west with each run. TPC obviously will not change the track until more data is analyzed. Floyd will get its act together eventually and strengthen after 24 hours. Will heights build significantly over the western atlantic to keep him on a west-nothwest path through weds? Too early to tell. STay tuned.

good evening im getting a rather late post im sorry i tryed to get this out sooner but other things first, Well let's get right to what i think will happen to FLOYD, im not going out on a limb but i am going to chat about the east coast, some of you who have read my posts in the past know that i favor the GFDL , BAMM BAMD ant other tropical models, im looking for FLOYD to get ever closer to the east coast than our friend DENNIS did, why ,FACTORS i dont think that the trough will pull the system north and out, 2 A rather strong ridge will be building in the ATLANTIC very soon, this will be the driving force to send this system to the west after just clipping the islandes, im thinking the ridge will break down late in the forecast, my only thought will this leave FLOYD sitting along the FL,GA coast, possible i just dont know right now buti will later on, well thats it for now ill post later tomorrow with more, Mike Anderson Florida WX.
