tornado outbreak

as a grim follow-on to the significant march tornado outbreak in missouri, another springtime tornado group has swept the mid-south. the preliminary reports out of the region point to a worst impact in northwestern tennessee, where it looks like at least twenty people were killed sunday evening. since these were in adjacent counties it may have been a single large tornado doing most or all of the destruction. aside from a general respite over the winter, last fall remained tornadically active, and this spring has been fairly active in terms of severe weather. last spring was notably quiet, in contrast to this one.
