THIS bears repeating (from an earlier newscast): "And for the entire time Bush was in the state," the congressman said, "a ban on helicopter flights further stalled the delivery of food and supplies." I have never been so pissed off in my life. I never thought I would see the day when American citizens were allowed to die so the POTUS could have a goddamned photo op with some little girls who had already been rescued. I never thought I'd see the day when the American government failed so absolutely to respond to a tragedy on their own soil. Nor the day when the poor, the sick, and the old were left to survive an elemental catastrophe in the richest, most powerful nation on the planet. I really never believed it would come to this, but here we are. I am ashamed. And angry. /Contributed $$$ though |
