Invest 97L

For clarification, Invest 97L is the more westward wave currently located at 8N 40W. NASA animation still shows a tight spinning low level circulation - which because of the rather low latitude is interesting in itself. For the past 24 hours the low has been drifting to the west southwest under the influence of strengthening high pressure well to the north, however, forward speed has started to pick up a little. A small convective area has started to form again this evening - mostly north of the low center. The models seem to be moving this system a little too far to the north a little too quickly. With such a low latitude, if it develops at all it will do so rather slowly.
Cheers,
ED
