Possible, but I think not likely. More possibly a sucker hole. The last vortex message to be sent out was at a location well north of there. This has more the look of a localized region of subsidence in between some hot towers.

If it turns out to be the mid-level center developing an eye-like feature, it could have significant implications for the forecast, given how far south it is from the tracked center.
