Having two pre-season tropical systems happened a few times in the past, see also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_off-season_Atlantic_hurricanes

Yet, what is unprecedented is that 2020 is the 6th consecutive year with at least one named tropical storm prior to the official start to the season.
