convective diurnal maximum

To anyone who knows the answer:
I was looking at the 24 hour visible loop of Emily and noticed how different she looked before and after nightfall. If I didn’t know better, I would say that I was looking at two different systems.

Now, I am sure Keith probably asked this question in his on-going learning stage,… but could you explain in detail about the concept of overnight convective diurnal maximum. I did a Google search because the question was is so vague, but all I came up with was NHC discussions using it in context. Thanks.
