Hi, Lenny. A tip if you decide to buy a home here -- look for something built to post-Hurricane Andrew codes. These, I believe, were instituted in 1994. Pines and Weston have a lot of new construction, so it shouldn't be a problem. If you do look at older construction, make sure it has been retrofitted with hurricane shutters or impact-resistant glass and a reinforced garage door (we just installed one that's supposed to be good up to 170 mph winds; hopefully it's never put to the test). You'll get discounts (albeit relatively small ones) on homeowners/windstorm insurance and your home will be protected. Finally, look for an area with underground utilities (I think Weston falls into this category). They're less prone to outages in storms and service is restored faster.
