Tropical Wave picked up by several models

There is a tropical wave that is coming off the coast of Africa that is picked up by a couple of the latest models. Of course GFS is predicting development, I would expect that because of it's pre-mature nature. NGP is picking it up as well as ECMWF, these two aren't as fast on development at GFS.

Of course this is still way out there, but is worth keeping an eye on, as it could be the first long term development of the Atlantic season.

GFS (picks up the wave at 60 hrs and shows development at 96 hrs)

ECMWF (wave leaves African coast at 96 hrs and begins slow development...much slower than GFS)

Re: Tropical Storm Henri Forms East of the Caribbean

i can not start a new topic so i'll post my thoughts here......oct.17.....isn't it about the time the experts who get the big bucks, come out with a statement that they predict fewer hurricanes in the 2009 season ????
