Miami in October Hurricane History

Hello, I am trying to identify the hurricane history of Miami in the month of October. Are there any websites that I can be directed to for further review? Based on initial document reviews I am viewing October as historically a slow hurricane month for city of Miami. Please advise. Thanks

Re: Miami in October Hurricane History

slow? not really. florida gets hit from storms coming out of the caribbean in october every few years.
this could take a while to do, but look through various years in the archives at www.weather.unisys.com... particularly during the early part of the 20th century. you'll see that up until the 1960s south florida took plenty of hits in october. in the later 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s (except for irene in 1999) things went slack. michelle missed south in 2001 and wilma got you in '05, so the october hurricane every few years seems to be back in action.
