Typhoon Koppu delivers glancing blow to Hong Kong

Typhoon Koppu formed several days ago near Luzon Island in the Philippines and has moved NW, passing about 75 miles south of Hong Kong and is now making landfall in China with winds of around 70 kts. (80 mph). Winds in Hong Kong over the last few hours have been 40-55 mph with gusts approaching 70 mph. It looks like heavy rains and mudslides will be the biggest problem from Koppu.

Oh yeah, it was a bad one alright! I was surprised they didn't post it at Signal 9 or 10. The winds were quite severe. Now, I am supposing that the typhoons are all trying to beat the Autumn Moon Festival date! LOL. Why not cram in a few typhoons before October? hmm . . .
