Probably at most a strong tropical storm.

No doubt there is something going on in the Western Caribbean around 18N and 82W. The latest GFDL run is of interest as it has the system going through my front door here in New Orleans in 78 hours as a 60 knot tropical storm. Surely bears some watching.

Tropical Depression One

As of 5 PM,the disturbance that was moving through the Caribbean was upgraded to Tropical Depression One. I expect Tropical Storm Arlene to form later tonight or tomorrow morning.

A caution here: It is not necessary to post the obvious, and one-line posts are discouraged since this is a Forum, not a Chat Room. Sharing your ideas and the reasons behind them will usually make for a good post that others can respond to.
