El niño

What influence will this year's El Niño have on the 2003 hurricane season?

Re: El niño

I don't mean to leave you hanging on a thread, but it is nearly impossible to forecast El Nino's effect on the 2003 hurricane season. At this point, an average season may be likely. Stay tuned as we head into December and Janurary as some ideas should begin to pop up by then.

Re: El niño

ask us next spring/summer when we somebody has a clue. there is no reliable way to predict it at this point.. using those cpc forecasts is about as useful as betting the mrf is right at 14 days.

Re: El niño

It is very difficult to say so early what will happen in the 2003 season in terms of el nino factor. We have to wait until spring of 2003 to see by then what climate changes are in the pacific and look for the ssta's in that period.
