Mesoscale Convective Vortice-MCV

This MCV has been moving eastward at 25mph, just south of the Interstate 10 corridor since it left Houston,TX two days ago. There isn't a lot of heavy weather with the system but it has spawned several slow moving thunderstorms that in turn launched flash flood warnings. I received about 0.17 inches in less than 20 minutes.

SPC has issued 2 separate Mesoscale Convective Discussions this morning for the system. It's worth keeping an eye or two on throughout the day.

According to one source a MCV is affecting west central Florida today as I write. Very interesting radar signature, with characteristics of circulation and certainly rapidly developing strong T Storms.
Another feature is in the central gulf about 200 miles west of this one..
I started to write earlier today that such a feature could lead to an early development out of the GOM in May this year, what with the wild contrasts in air masses now over the CONUS.
