I know what you mean....lol..I just make mine easy. It's something I could never forget.

Frank..my kids names both begin with the letter "M". Think that I would be able to get them straight. They always say, "Mom!!!! I'm Michael!" or "I'm Mark!" I say, "Well I named you, and I have the right to change your name whenever I want!" My husband says, "Honey...the little one is Mark."

Yeah so?? ;-)

Colleen, I haven't registered yet here, but posted anonymous under the response to cane man. Watch the area south of western Cuba. See ECTWC.

Interesting Cuba convection.
      #203 - Tue May 21 2002 05:14 PM

There is definitely some convection that has developed over Cuba and there is a weak circulation just west of the system, Anonymous said. Interesting because some models prog a low pressure development down there. I was reading the CPC's diagnostic outlook and they mentioned that a low pressure development off of the southeast U.S. coast could bring heavy rain to the Carolina's. I'll be watching.

John....that is freaking hilarious!!!! I gotcha now. Does it redo itself after you log in or out, or does it keep a running total?

Thanks for the answer to my question. Guess I never though to look under FAQ's.

Yes, I see that now. When I posted before about the weather maps from AOL, I saw that area near Cuba. I will watch it closely, like I am sure all the rest of us will do. Thanks.

I REGISTERED UNDER THE NAME STUARTDAVE BUT APPARENTLY THE PROCESS HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETED YET FOR ME TO POST UNDER THIS NAME. I HAVE FOLLOWED THIS SITE FOR THE LAST 3 YRS AND FIND IT ADDS GREAT EXCITEMENT TO A USUALLY BORING SEASON. ULTIMATELY THE ODDS OF GETTING A STORM REMAIN REMOTE WHEN YOU CONSIDER THE AREA COVERED ALONG THE EAST AND GULF COAST. IF THE INTEREST IN WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW IS ANY INDICATION IT'S GOING TO TAKE FOREVER TO READ ALL THE POSTS IF A STORM REALLY DOES THREATEN

It keeps a running total. There might be a few "Is the Weather" by the end of this season

Colleen...
      #210 - Tue May 21 2002 10:00 PM

I rated you 5 stars because someone rated me 5 stars - I assumed it was you. Apparently 2 other people came in and voted you "1" star - probably thinking that was the best ranking. But you're 5 stars to me!

Just for fun...
      #211 - Tue May 21 2002 10:03 PM

The European puts a low in the Carolinas or just offshore with a trailing low (presumably cut-off) in the gulf in the next couple of days. It ends up around PCB/Apalachacola area next Tuesday or so, but it doesn't appear to have much associated weather.

I voted no...
      #217 - Wed May 22 2002 12:07 AM

I still have my first aid kit, but that's it. None of my flashlights or radios have batteries. I don't have any non-perishables. There isn't any bottled water stocked. My important papers are scattered. None of the cars has a full tank of gas. - You get the idea.

But can I be ready in a day or two? You bet. As soon as there is any hint of anything serious, I beat the crowds to the store for the ice, beer, chips, water, etc. I hope I get a chance to use some of those provisions this year - DURING the season though.

And I wasn't sucking up. Colleen and I are weather friends from the last couple of seasons. We battled John/Palmoa from South Florida. OOOOH OOOOH OOOOH! 10 more days til the season. One of the original 13 colonies was the 10th state. Liza Manelli has 10 letters if you ignore a few

possibles
      #220 - Wed May 22 2002 01:26 AM

i get the impression that we will have something to watch by memorial day weekend, though less than fifty fifty that it is tropical. most of the models are pretty persistent about wanting a low to kick up on the frontal tail left behind when this big longwave pulls out. good for two things: i'm tired of it not making 70 in the afternoon here, and the piece of energy left behind will probably form a cutoff that most models are thinking will have a surface reflection that meanders east of florida for days. on the other hand there's a good bit of convection over the w carib and central america underneath all this that might want to become something if it can find a nice shelter from all of the late spring shear.
still nothing to take seriously, but neat considering how dead things usually are this time of year.

Hard Wind
      #221 - Wed May 22 2002 08:03 AM

Just a observation, looking at the sattelite picks you would think that the wind is howling out of the SW. But here on the East Coast the wind is directly from the North??
Anyone...

Steve, did someone say you were sucking up to me? ROFLOL....Hey Rad.what was the post you deleted?

Stil have to go to the sat pix this morning, but my body decided to get a late spring/early summer cold. Icky. You remember what it's like when you accidentally get soda up your nose?? That's what it FEELS like....and last night I was using some nasal spray so I could BREATH, but alas, I tipped the bottle up to high and got what I think would have been a week's worth of the stuff. Ugh.

Oh well...life goes on. It's just a cold.
