Areas of Interest - Invests 91L & 93L
      #18144 - Sun Aug 08 2004 11:37 PM

Invest 91L has survived its passage through a hostile Caribbean (that is now much less hostile) and is currently passing through the Yucatan Channel into a favorable GOM environment for additional development. Wind shear is light and expected to remain that way. Movement is to the west northwest and will be leaning more toward the northwest on Monday. The system should again reach Tropical Depression status by Monday evening and could threaten eastern Gulf coastal areas later in the week.

Invest 93L, near 12N 55W at 09/00Z, is moving to the west northwest and should continue to do so for the next three days. Slow intensification seems likely as the system moves through the southern islands late tomorrow as a TD or minimal TS. I anticipate an eventual track toward Jamaica later in the week.
Cheers,
ED
