Hey all...got to make this fast since I still have some things (around the house) to do. I'm not even bothering cleaning since it might be messy later.

The weather here is starting to go downhill a little, had a little tiny feeder band at the football games (both kids teams won!) and then some jerk came over and told us it had been bumped up to a Cat 4 with 150mph winds! We nearly fell down dead. Jeez...wait till the next time I see HIM! Now it's getting windier and rainier and darker, so I'm gonna go take my long hot bath, take a nap so that I can be of some use during the middle of the night===because there is no way in hell I could sleep while the east coast's taking a beating before heading in my general direction.

I'll talk atcha all later...please stay safe and sound...and Redbird: Benadryl will knock them off dead on their feet. Don't stress yourself out over cleaning. Go easy on yourself, enjoy your kids and spend some time with them. Or just tell them to get to their rooms and LEAVE YOU ALONE!
Okay? Been there done that, the only person it hurts is me.

See ya'll in a little while.

p.s. Frank...passed the message on to my Mom. I pm'd you, but just wanted to let you know. Thank you so much. :-)

I know how you must feel, I'm 16. I'm no child expert but right now I would be taking somehting that they like away from them. That always seems to work with me, shut off their power maybe? Just a thought, it works with me at least that's what my dad says.

I'm not going to be any help as far as reporting conditions in the Palm Beach county (Hypoluxo & Jog) area. My wife didn't want to stick out another one so I'm typing this from a hotel room in The Keys (Islamorada). I wish all of you in the thick of it all the luck in the world. Be safe.

Accuweather says highest gust here in Port St. Lucie has been 42mph. Rain starting to collect in the swales that are allready wet from big rains earlier in week. It is an eery feeling Knowing you are with each hours closer to the landfalling eye of Jeanne. Local conditions could be gusting to 155 on the north side of eyewall as it moves onshore or so the local tv People are saying. Who knows, we will know in a few hours. Hard to imagine what this area that was hardest hit by Frances will look like tomorrow. People just seem resigned to just see what happens. NOT COMPLACENT just a feeling of what can you do. I will post more later until loose power or things get so bad I cant rig with the Inverter and battery rig I tested with this computer. Good luck to all in path---it is a big path indeed

Just went outside to lock the shed and heard my neighbors doing some kind of construction work. They were taking down their plywood! I said Eddie what are you doing, do you realize that at about 2AM this morning we may have Tropical Force winds with Hurricane Gusts?

He says "We were so tired of hearing about and never receiving, the wife was tired of the darkness, the kids were getting bored, so we decided to put the lawn furniture, swing set, gazebo and etc back together and have some fun". I said "when is the last time you watch the TV", he says "Yesterday".

Needless to say he has the TV on now, his wife is at the store getting water (they had one gallon in the house for 6 people) and the plywood is going back up.

I think alot of people in the Tampa Bay area have no clue or do not care. The Pinellas County EOC has only issured a voluntary evac, with the flooding and mobile homes I can't believe it is not mandatory.

Oh Well, My family, sisters, Mother and Father are prepared.

Conditions [Re: Justin in Miami]
      #31969 - Sat Sep 25 2004 04:16 PM

Rain is definitely picking up along with the winds. Peak gust is still 37 mph, but the gusts are coming in that range more and more frequently. Rain has totaled .67" and pressure is really dropping. It is now 29.38". An hour ago it was 29.44".

Local tv stations from W.P.B. are WPBF, WPTV, and WPEC for those looking for streaming broadcasts.

Schools already closed Monday in P.B. County.

Jim will be calling me for my weather conditions from Hurricane City later tonight during his broadcast. If I have a phone line that is.

It was just raining in Naples. Looks like we are in for a lot of rain, but just tropical storm force winds if the track holds as projected. Collier County has opened Palmetto Ridge HS for the use of evacuating out-of-towners.

In about 8 minutes it will three weeks to the minute that since we lost power from Frances. At that time I believe center was about 40 miles closer and heading in. Funny how time flies, been a crazy month ,really crazy. It is hard to believe I could spend much of my life in an area and get the two strongest storms of my life three weeks apart. Before that the last big one was the Cat 4 Storm in 1949. Heard a lot about that one growing up. Later

This should be the last storm. The Tivo got installed today after being cancelled by Charley and Frances. Jeanne almost got this one; but the installer lives around the corner and came over to get it in.

Still looks rough. WOndering if the next forecast will shift it a little more west or not. Not sure it is going to matter either way for me. I think I will get a good whacking.
