And so it begins....

Welcome to the new look of CFHC for the 2005 Atlantic Hurricane Season! While we are all hoping for a much quieter season than last year, we want all residents of hurricane prone areas to be very weather aware, and very weather prepared. Getting your plans in order now saves you valuable time later to make sure you, your family, and your property is as safe as possible.

We have all been pouring over the outlook for this season overall, and the news at this point is not good for the US. But what about the next few weeks? Caribbean SST's are very warm (warmer than this time last year) and this warmth is expanding west into the Gulf of Mexico. These are the primary source regions for early season development, and is where we will focus our attention over the next few weeks. Remember that last year we had no significant development until August, so if we do begin the season on a slow note, don't get lulled into thinking that the whole season will be that way.

Lastly, thanks to Mike, Ed, the Mods and all involved for giving us this sounding board this year. We will try to do the best we can at giving what information we can share, and to clarify any questions you might have.

With that, let the tracking begin!!!
