The forecast track of Wilma
      #58892 - Tue Oct 18 2005 08:49 PM

Here is my forecast based on the info I saw:

Wilma will become a CAT 3 at midnight. It will still continue to grow in size till it reach the gulf coast. At that time Wilma WILL be a CAT 5 with 175 miles of wind.
It might weaken a little as it turned and began to make landfall at florida. Right now, I predict a Cat 4 when it actually hits, this storm is a pretty predictable one right now. (I already knew it will be a Cat 2 at this time)

Yeah, major storm here we come. Just caught this quote off an AP wire report:

Quote:

"We just don't see why it should not become a major hurricane, if not a Category 4 hurricane" over the warm waters, said Max Mayfield, director of the National Hurricane Center in Miami. "That should get people's attention."

Your predictions since last night have all come to fruition. Care to hazard a guess on west FL landfall?

I am guessing the Florida Keys right now seeing this more westernly track, and if it actually have a direct hit Cancun in Mexico. This Walma should weaken to a cat 3 or 2 by the time it hits. The Dry air in Gulf of Mexico right now wont be a problem for Wilma like this.

The storm is a healthy Cat 2 right now and is going to be a Cat 3 to me. I won't even be surprised to find it became Cat 4!
