I also think Sarasota with an exit point around New Smyrna. I do not buy the right hook theory from the NHC. They just do not like that ENE course for too long....Heading to Lowes to get that generator right now...Little gun shy here in ye ole Polk County.

Hi...new here just found the site searching for info on Wilma. Does anyone have any ideas what the storm surge will be like on the FL west coast? How far up the state will see a significant rise in the water. I live in Citrus county (on the water) which is located about 80 miles north of St. Pete.

Although the 11 AM guidance is going the other way, I say South + East. In near Marco Isl. exiting over Broward County/Ft. Laud.

When everyone asked me why I didn't have my Halloween decorations out yet, I told them 3 weeks ago that a storm would come this week and it would land south of St Petersburg/Tampa and cross the state....I think you are right with your estimates on the landfall entrance & exit points.

I also predict that it will be a 3 or 4 when it arrives at Florida.

We'll see.....

Go Pats?

Boo! Hiss!

How dare you use the string created by a Pittsburgh boy (native of Bethel Park) to cheer on those Pats. May they be washed out to sea when the damns burst .

I live in Punta Gorda, so I'm gonna say anything BUT for landfall. I'll say Fort Myers landfall, Fort Pierce exit.

Let me say I'm real happy to hear of probable weakening.
