Tropical Storm Epsilon Forms in Central Atlantic
      #64097 - Wed Nov 30 2005 09:49 AM

Rita affected a very wide population. We here in the Golden Triangle have over 200,000 people alone. Rita probably affected over
500,000 people. I get tired of hearing the word " fairly unpopulated" because Rita did extensive damage here to the people in this area and this
area is POPULATED.

I was reading today in the newspaper scientists think that next season may be as active as this one. What do ya'll think?

I agree with you, unpopulated or not, these storms still effect someone or something in some way. If it's not people then it's the environment, which includes thousands of species of animals, fish and forest. I am not an environmentalist, but i am just saying that if anyone ever says that it's not a big deal when these storms hit an unpopulated area they are wrong. Perhaps where the eye of Rita made landfall was not so densely populated, but everyone knows the effects of these storms, especially large ones. Hell, some storms could be felt at least a hundred miles away from the center.
