Folks...Sorry to break in with an unrelated weather topic, but several posters here are from the Port Charlotte area and thought I'd post news links of tonights tornado (I didn't know how/ of if I could start another forum)
There are reports of minor injuries from this tornado at this time. Assessments ongoing.
NBC 2: http://www.nbc-2.com/index.shtml
Sarasota Herald Tribune: http://www.heraldtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/frontpage

Initial reports are it was one F0 or F1 tornado that "skipped" around. NWS is supposed to issue a report today (Thurs.).

My dh and I were standing at the counter last night when the weather alarm went off on the radio, and I flipped on the tv (we'd been watching a blossoming storm coming from the east towards us -- I THOUGHT). The storm literally BLOOMED when it hit the harbor, then it SPLIT and half went down the harbor and caught the southern end of Cape Haze, and to the north through North Port/Englewood. I had NO rain at all in either of my rain gauges.

Lot of lightning, lot of wind, no rain at all here in Rotonda.
