Dean and Felix make for 2 Major Hurricanes of the 6 Named this Year
      #77783 - Sun Sep 02 2007 05:36 PM

Have I missed any? Isn't 2 out of 6 rather unusual?

Global Warming, whether natural or abetted by Man, a factor?

I've neither ax to grind nor any stake in the controversy.

I'm just a hapless seeker after the truth.

Andrew was major storm One of One.

Yeah, there isn't really any significance to this.

Two solid category fives making landfall within just as many weeks is certainly a new statistic, and will pound up the ACE index for this season.

In this thread I talked about the 1992 season, which was positively epic in the NW pacific. You have to remember that our little blue ball isn't the only game in town, so to speak.
