Bonnie Conditions in Your Area
      #88377 - Thu Jul 22 2010 09:20 PM

This is to report the general conditions of your area if you are in the path of Bonnie,

For example, in Orlando, next to Universal Studios, it's somewhat cloudy, but otherwise calm.

Not too bad in Boca. Gets breezy at times, some light rain earlier. Winds could've gusted to near 20 MPH earlier, but otherwise not that bad.

I live on the bayfront in south Coral Gables (next to Matheson Hammock Park). We have had some heavy rain (about 1.5") and just started to get some wind in the last 10 minutes. It's blowing out of the northeast at 20 to 25kts with a few gusts to around 30kts. In the heavy rain band that just passed through, we had LOTS of lightning but very little wind. The wind didn't start blowing until after the squall passed through. Pressure is 29.75.

The wind has clocked around toward the east/southeast and picked up to 30 to 35kts at the moment. No more rain. Bay is rough but the tide isn't running much above normal. Royal palms are losing some of their big fronds and the power has flickered a few times.

The wind has dropped off to about 10kts at the moment, out of the southeast. Some patches of blue sky are visible overhead along with some fast moving low clouds racing from the southeast to the northwest. I guess I am in the "center" of Bonnie. Not too impressive but interesting nonetheless. I see some thicker clouds offshore so maybe we will get a little more rain on the back side of the center.

Almost 1pm in Plant City. Barometer is a tad over 30 in even. Winds are not very strong.....maybe 5-10 and seem to be out of the east. Mostly cloudy and temp at 89F. Radar shows rain about 30 miles to our south and making slow progress towards us. Need a bit of rain as it has been a week since our last storm and has been VERY hot!!

Winds are now out of the south at about 20kts with occasional gusts of 25 to 30kts. Dark clouds are racing in off Biscayne Bay between pockets of sun, but so far no more rain. The highest wind gust that I noticed locally was 58 mph over at Virginia Key between 10 and 11am. I believe Fowey Light's peak gust was 52kts (5 mi. southeast of Key Biscayne). My barometer is back up to 29.86.

just after 2pm and conditions changing rapidly in Plant City. It has gotten very dark....hearing thunder to the south and east. Light rain has begun to fall, but the wind have gone almost calm at this time. Temp is 86F and falling...barometer is now just a tad UNDER 30 in.

[edit] 2:25 and heavy rain and gusty winds here. looks like several bands on the way.

Moderate rain and zero wind speed here in Pinellas Park with heavier rain just to the East moving rapidly westward. I don't expect much more than that as far as severity goes. Cloudy, periods of rain, light wind is going to be about it for this area.

Here in Trinity/New Port Richey, FL - This morning was sunny and warm but had a nice breeze. The past hour, dark clouds have rolled in. No rain yet but looks like we are in for some...at least I hope so.
