Beryl Weather Reports
      #92562 - Thu May 24 2012 04:31 PM

Since some folks in extreme south Florida are already getting some high winds and heavy rain squalls it seemed appropriate to start this thread. This is the place to report your weather observations of interest.

That band is approaching the Tampa Bay area now (within the next hour). I'm watching the Tampa Bay NWS radar loop. Locally, the wind is from the West at ~14 MPH here at my house (someday I'll be able to afford an accurate weather station ).

That band fell apart before reaching my area. As the wind goes more to the SW, I'm sure we'll get some rain tomorrow and Tuesday.

20 miles NE of Gainesville, and so far only a couple good bursts of rain. Wind picking up a bit, but we're sitting pretty so far. We'll see what happens.

Thanks for updating. Post moved to a more appropriate thread -Ciel

Bryan Norcoss, now at The Weather Channel, just reported on air that Bryan Koon, Director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management, stated that Mathews Bridge, a truss bridge in Jacksonville, just recorded an 87MPH wind (probably in a gust) at its elevated level.

Heavy winds over on the westside of JAX and slight rain so far. Local Mets are saying we will be getting the worst of the storm around 1-2 AM. Had reports of 87 gust in our downtown area, local mets speculate they were microburst. Lots of people without power right now,(12-15k) but I have it still.

Thanks for the update. Post moved to a more appropriate thread. -Ciel
