Area of Interest - Invest 98L
      #95281 - Thu Aug 28 2014 10:29 AM

A broad area of low pressure was centered roughly 60 miles off the extreme south Texas coast as of 8/28/2014 9AM CDT, with slow movement generally to to west-southwest. This feature is being tracked as Invest 98L.

Mostly because of its very close proximity to land, as well as an abundance of nearby dry air, significant tropical cyclone development with 98L is not forecast. However, regardless of development, scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are likely to affect the Texas coast, plains and Rio Grande Valley over the course of the next several days. Some of the storms may be heavy and produce strong winds. Isolated waterspouts and brief tornadoes will also be possible.
