Developing Typhoon NOUL Passes Over Yap Island

Tropical Storm Noul (now a typhoon with sustained winds of 80 knots) passed over Yap Island yesterday on its track toward northern Luzon Island in the Philippines.

Notice the wind at 0355 as the developing eye passed over the island: NE at 1G61mph. Yap recorded over 11 inches of rain from the tropical cyclone.

NOUL is expected to graze the northeast coast of Luzon on Sunday.

Super Typhoon NOUL Hits NE Tip of Luzon [Re: Ed Dunham]

At 10/12Z, Super Typhoon Noul passed over the far northeast tip of Luzon Island in the Philippines with winds gusting to 170 knots. Noul is expected to pass near or over Kadena AB at 11/23Z with sustained winds of 70 knots.
