Hurricane Joaquin, still a category four storm, has a track that shifted a bit east, bringing it close enough for a brush with Bermuda tomorrow. Hurricane Warnings are now up for Bermuda as a result.

Some of the outer bands are already affecting Bermuda.

Flooding rains and coastal flooding are still affecting the mid Atlantic states (in particular South Carolina). Mark Sudduth of hurricanetrack is out in the Carolinas streaming that at http://hurricanetrack.com/flood/

11PM BDT
Hurricane-force winds have been ongoing for over two hours at the more elevated locations of Bermuda, and are expected to continue doing so for a while longer. As such, the Hurricane Warning has been extended until 1AM local time.
Quote:

BWS - Bermuda Weather Service

Due to the winds in elevated locations still experiencing hurricane force winds the Hurricane Warning will remain in effect beyond the midnight advisory. The projected track and wind radii have altered the winds, keeping us in heightened conditions until 1am, however the structure is expected to change tomorrow morning allowing cessation of tropical storm force winds a little earlier (by about 2 hours).

Next official Tropical Update Bulletin is at midnight.

The revised wind categories are then as follows:

TS Force (34+ KT)
Marine: Now - 9am Monday
Island: Now - 7am Monday

Storm Force (50+ KT)
Marine: Now - 3am Monday
Island: Now - 1am Monday

Hurricane Force (64+KT)
Marine: Now - 1am Monday
Island: Elevated and exposed (especially in the west) - 1am Monday

Looking like Joaquin's remnants might be causing us on this side of the pond some issues at the weekend....
