This is a question that has me curious about the weather satellite pictures from the Noaa websites. The satellite pix look like there is a lot of electronic interference and difficulty in deciphering what is really happening with the weather around Florida where the frames are jumping. I understand that sunspot activity can interfere in transmission of data to the source to broad cast it, There is a tremendous interest in how the official reporting will be done this year. I remember past years where a sudden little spin would occur and no one even paid any attention to it and then it was gone. After 1995 the storms would develop so suddenly that people had no time to respond. Andrew case in point went from a tropical storm that was not expected to be more than a low pressure area and the suddenly conditions became ripe for real danger. It is hard to sit and think about the possibilities of more unexpected and unimaginable ways that hurricanes could start to effect the US. It would be hard to imagine a storm Katrina size coming ashore anywhere other than New Orleans and having any different responce than people watching out for themselves and taking efforts to see that their neigbor and themselves were ok. What I imagine would be the formation of a storm with the elements of Andrew, Floyd,Hugo, Ivan, and Katrina. None of these storms were predictable in a life saving way. Work on the response for safety should come from not how much property was damaged rather than how many lives were saved and by what action taken. There is this pervasive feeling that the month of jJune will become unusual in the way the hurricanes present this year, i do not think we will ever have another normal year of huricanes because of the change in weather pattersn, the amount of bomb testing that goes on and the amount of rocket fuel,, jet fuel and other man made poisons seeping into the mix. All I can really do is be prepared, and pray that all the predictive experts have made some bad prediction based on data that is not correct for the persent conditions and that we will get a reprieve from death and destruct from hurricane or other tropical storm this year. Good luck in Hurricane 2006
