Well, its really a fairly significant trough that is shown by the EC carving out in the eastern third of the nation. Think EC is over-doing it a bit for this time of year, so I think 2 weeks is a bit much, but you can see shear tearing across the Southern GOM into the western Atlantic. Anything that tries to develop from the vorts rotating through should move NE. GFS probably is close with depicting a weak low near the Fl Straits lifting NE. Wish the trough would hang around all summer, but that ain't happening.
