Quote: I found this site invaluable during Frances, Jean and Wilma when the eye went right through Stuart (ok, Sewalls Point or Hutchinson Island or Jupiter Island) and close to your hometown of Port St. Lucie.
My hometown is Fort Lauderdale where I resided for 31 years. I've lived in Saint Lucie County for almost 22 years. I resided in Jensen Beach (Hutchinson Island) while Frances and Jeanne went right over my gated community and the destruction was massive. Imagine, 2 major hurricanes within 3 weeks? Unfathomable. After Wilma slammed us from the west, I chose to move to the mainland. Living directly on the ocean is a real chore during and after hurricanes. Yes, I concur...folks who do not live in hurricane prone areas use this site regularly to check on family members. Like I've already stated...I am grateful Clark, Mike, and all the other hard-working Mets make this site possible. God Bless you...
