The 40kt winds are likely well away from the LLC, in that blob that will eventually effect the west coast of Florida. Alberto definately looks very lopsided.
Question for the mets or anyone else who wants to jump in with an opinion.... since Alberto's LLC appears to be moving more westward than northward right now, how will this impact the ultimate location of the storm if and when it makes the turn to the northeast? (I know, nothing is certain right now)...
