You are correct that this will not be as much of a threat as later storms, but I would not go as far as calling it a "non event". I have no idea how much rainfall is predicted, but if it rains hard in certain areas for a long time, we could be looking at some significant flooding and there are many T-storms in this storm that could cause problems. People really need to keep informed about this storm if they are going to be on the right side of this storm --- which appears most of the the western side of Florida is at this time. It may not be an Ivan or a Katrina, but keep in mind what Allison did in TX. I drove through GA during that storm, and the rain, wind and severe weather in the bands was some of the worst weather I ever experienced. I am not being argumentative, I just do not want people to let their guard down, that's all.
