It should be noted that yesterday's GFDL runs weakened the storm dramatically before it ever reached Hispaniola in the model world. I discounted that at the time as some sort of premature land interaction and forecasters probably did as well, but that seems to have panned out.
Now all we have is a naked low-level circulation. Most of the time, systems never really recover from this state, but it still needs to be watched.
