Not really. The pre-Katrina disturbance was TD 10, much further out in the central Atlantic, and there was a period of several days after its dissipation before Katrina was born. Furthermore, the ex-TD 10 disturbance was overtaken by a separate and stronger tropical wave prior to Katrina's formation, complicating the issue. There is no such disturbance here.
