Area of Interest - Invest 95L in Southern GOM
      Wed Sep 18 2013 01:15 PM

At 18/16Z, Invest 95L was located in the Bay of Campeche just to the northwest of Campeche, Mexico, near 20.4N 90.8W. Winds were at 25 knots, pressure at 1004MB and movement was to the northwest at 8 knots. Primary convection was located east of the Invest center over the Yucatan Peninsula. SSTs in the southern Gulf of Mexico are 29.5 to 30C.

An upper level low is located to the southwest of the Invest area - centered near 17N 93W - with a dry slot to the northwest of 95L. Northeast windshear to the northwest of the system will slowly subside over the next couple of days. Additional development is expected, however probably initially at a slower rate than current NHC projections. The next name on the list this season is Jerry.
