Tropical Wave over the Yucatan June 17, 2016 2245UTC

A tropical wave that has been located in the northwest Caribbean interacting with land the past few days, inhibiting development, is now approaching the extreme southwestern Gulf of Mexico (Bay of Campeche), and there are some indications that a weak circulation could be forming.

Depending on how much of the disturbance exits land and into the Bay of Campeche, there may be a window of as little as one, to a few days, for some organization, later this weekend and into early next week.

Movement is likely to continue generally west-northwest, but may track more northwest should it develop.

This system is not yet Invest tagged.

Tile edited to reflect upgrade to TD FOUR and now Danielle.
