DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 500 PM AST (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Fiona was
located near latitude 23.4 North, longitude 54.9 West. Fiona is
moving toward the west-northwest near 17 mph (28 km/h) and this
general heading with some decrease in forward speed is expected to
continue for the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts.
Some weakening is forecast during the next 24 hours, and Fiona could
weaken to a tropical depression tonight or Tuesday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches).
