DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1000 PM CDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Gordon was located near latitude 33.2 North, longitude 91.0 West. The depression is moving toward the north-northwest near 8 mph (13 km/h) and this motion is expected to is expected to continue overnight. Maximum sustained winds are near 25 mph (40 km/h) with higher gusts. Some weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1013 mb (29.92 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- RAINFALL: Gordon is expected to produce total rain accumulations of 2 to 4 inches over portions of western Mississippi, southern and western Arkansas, and from western to northern Missouri into adjacent parts of Illinois with isolated maximum amounts of 6 inches through early Saturday. This rainfall will cause flash flooding across portions of these areas.
