My old business partner now has a company that makes water puriafication systems,BIG ones,we were discussing just that, why didnt FEMA have some sort of H2O cleaning prior to dumping 2billion gallons of pollution into lake Ponch.and by doing so ,what long term ramafacations will it have? according to him, the reports of " a toxic soup" are pushing it, yea its bad, but the good news is New Orleans didnt have any heavy industry downtown, so the pollution is mostly biological,ie: human waste-decomp-and yea , oil & gas ,dumping bleach is not an option and will make the impact worse, the eco-system can handle bio waste as it will be broken down ,oil products will have a bad effect but not of disaster preportions,as 2 billion gallons only represents 2% of Lake Ponch's total , As for pollution my concern is what thay intent to do with 90,000 sq miles worth of debris? all the buildings and houses that sat in water have to be demolished,there is no way to save them,in my opinion the city ,needs to be built up . so why not take the debris and add more fill on top,and if the planners are going to rebuild New Orleans do it on top of the old....literally..Just my 2 cents worth
