Mexico officials have increased the Alert level for the Popocatepetl volcano. The current Alert Level is a 3, out of 5. Or 5 out of 7 citing CENAPRED, Mexico's National Center for Prevention of Disasters (Centro Nacional de Prevención de Desastres, or CENAPRED). http://www.volcanodiscovery.com/popocatepetl/news.html Popocateptl is located in the Mexican state of Puebla, and is situated about 41 miles SE of Mexico City,MX: 160 miles west of Veracruz and 500 miles SSW of Brownsville,TX. 19.02°N / -98.62°W The link below is located in Puebla,MX and Popocateptl is located in the left center of the camera viewing area. http://www.webcamsdemexico.com/webcam-puebla.html This photo, See Attachment, was taken by the above webcam on Monday, April 16th,2012 at 7 PM CDT. Popocat is to the lower left of the Sun, black dot in the clouds. The clouds and ash plume give the Sun a strange appearance. At first glance I though the black dot was ejected lava rock or pumice. |
