While interacting with the mountainous terrain of Hispanola, 97L is showing signs of organization. It will be primed to intensify once inhibiting interaction with the islands lessens and the nitro-like 90F (+/-) SST's ahead of it in the SE GOMEX come into play. The relatively low shear and moist environment will also be conducive.
If the system takes a slow northward track a hundred or two miles off Florida's SW coast given the increasingly favorable conditions, a strengthening TS or Cat 1 over the NE Gulf just ahead of landfall may not out of the question.
