This is one impressive storm, and as Rob M said, at it's current rate of intensification it could go even higher! Could we have a record breaker on our hands here? If it reaches the forecast intensity, it will be the strongest typhoon since 1979. Maybe this could turn out to a very active year in the W. Pacific. Most likely nothing to rival 1997, though. That year they had 10 CAT 5, and four of those had sustained winds of 160kt!
