Hurricane Huko now southwest of Johnston Atoll moving to the west northwest with sustained winds of 75 knots. On Sunday the storm will cross the dateline and begin a more northwestward movement, passing near or just south of Wake Island late Monday as an 85-90 knot cyclone. Under the influence of a strong Aleutian low, Huko will be drawn northward and then northeastward, again crossing the dateline and passing well north of the Hawaiian Islands late next week. Huko should rapidly become extratropical at that time. Huko certainly will become one of the more longer lasting Central Pacific systems.
