Hurricane Odile Threatens the Baja

At 14/12Z, Odile was a Cat IV hurricane with sustained winds of 135mph and a central pressure of 941MB. Odile was located 285 miles to the south southeast of the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula, Mexico, moving to the north northwest at 13 knots. Odile will impact the southern Baja later tonight and Monday. Odile could reach Cat V intensity this evening before a weakening process begins as Odile impacts the Baja. Odile is the seventh major hurricane to form in the EASTPAC this season.
