Around 4AM the wind really picked up in NW Broward and we finally got some rain. Now's it's 6:20 AM EDT and we've got landfall of a solid Cat 3 just south of Naples - a little ahead of schedule and just south of predicated, given all the factors involved this has been a near perfect forecast. Given the track and strenght of this storm the next few hours here are going to be wild. Wind is whippin' pretty good steady at 35, gusting to 50. Amazingly my panels aren't rattling that much, I guess its because they are so heavy (steel not aluminum) and the winds are "only" at tropical storm force. |
