Re: Alberto Condition Reports

Hello everyone from Jacksonville. Our conditions here are just a slight drizzle so far, though we have had some heavier showers at times. There is almost no wind to speak of now.

Speaking of wind, I do have a quick question. The BoatUS.com site's projected wind swath shows Jacksonville having winds soon of 58-74 mph, and HurricaneAlley.net forecasts above 58 mph. Our local news website is indicate only winds of 20 mph and over (no further distinction), while the Weather Channel's site peaks at 35 mph. I can't get into the NWS page right now, but I think they say 35-40 mph.

Why is there such a spread? Between 20-74 mph is a lot of difference, which if these is most likely?
