Breezy in SW Seminole County too. Quick moving rain shower hit a few hours ago. My PWS is too close to trees for wind speeds to be accurate.

Pinellas County: Winds have been fresh all day here from the NE due to the pressure gradient. Wind speeds have been running 10-20 mph with some fast moving light showers in the area.

So far just breezy here in NW Broward - winds 10-20 out the NNW. We had a few quick showers that passed by overnight.

Re: Nicole Conditions in your Area

Just got our first batch of outflow bands resulting in a few quick downpours. Brought all the patio furniture and garbage cans in right at sunset. Since we now have impact windows there is nothing else to do. These windows cut down on the noise so much you can barely hear the rain unless its really coming down.

Re: Nicole Conditions in your Area

We're getting the 1st rain bands in Cocoa Beach tonight. Pretty windy already, 30 mph w/ gusts to 40 or so. Not much beach erosion in Cocoa Beach but Satellite beach lost a lot of sand from Ian and mid-tide today was already hitting the cliff left by the erosion from Ian.

Re: Nicole Conditions in your Area

Pretty much nothing here in NW Broward... light rain, overcast, light winds from WNW at 5 to 15 mph. The core is still 150 miles to our E... but I do see a stronger band of rain approaching on radar.

Re: Nicole Conditions in your Area

I'm in northern PB County about 10 miles inland. I had about 0.75" since midnight and highest sustained wind I've had was 20mph. Pressure is 29.83 and dropping about 0.04/hr for the last 3 hours. If yall want to watch interesting pics, here is a camera mounted on a condo overlooking Jupiter Inlet. The camera and weather system are mounted on the top of a 16 floor condo so the winds are always above normal, so keep that in mind.... Jupiter Inlet Cam

Pretty much constant light rain and Breezy in SW Seminole County since midnight. 0.48" for the day and 1.37" for the event so far. My anemometer is not accurate so I really don't know wind speeds.

Re: Nicole Conditions in your Area

Here in Pinellas County, winds have been mostly 10-20 mph from the NE all day; no rain so far. Pressure has been steadily falling since 10:30AM. My pws is not ideally sited because I’m in a residential neighborhood with single story houses and plenty of trees that are 30-60 feet tall. The NWS station at St. Pete/Clearwater airport, about 5 miles directly to my north, has been measuring 20-30 mph winds all day adjacent to Tampa Bay with few, if any, vertical obstructions. I expect conditions will begin to deteriorate late this evening.

Re: Nicole Conditions in your Area

Here in Palm City (NE Martin County) there is a shorter time between squalls/downpours and the wind is getting gustier. With the landfall forecast to be near here, I hope everyone is off the roads by nightfall.

Wesley Chapel - just North of Tampa
10-15 mph ground winds out of the NE. Weather station shows 16 mph gusts, but it's location isn't ideal.
Lots of trees in this area, great for blocking wind, bad for falling on power lines.
No rain, overcast clouds moving fast all day. Temp - 75.5F

Same here. Winds have decreased to 14mph peaks. Temps around 66F. Very little rain, if anything just sprinkles.
The models show it’s either going over my house or just off to the NE sometime tomorrow.

Re: Nicole Conditions in your Area

Yup....My DP yesterday never got above 74 and I never felt like I could eat the air like real tropical moisture. I dropped to 993mb as I was within 25 miles of the western "eyewall" at 1:15am, but has been steadily rising since. About 2.5" of rain since yesterday morning and the highest sustained on my weather station was 21mph, but it's at 20' in a pine stand so I figure a 50% reduction so a 40-44mph is reasonable and well within the forecast for my area. Lost power twice from 1pm-3pm and 930pm-1030pm yesterday, but otherwise it's been good. Good luck to everyone in Central Florida!

Rainy and blustery here in Plant City at 9am. Temperature is a cool 71. Not as much wind as I expected at this time...we may be on the fringe of the 'eye' of this cyclone. Airport showing gusts to only 30 right now and looking out my back windows, I have no reason to doubt that. Birds are at the feeders....

Over here in Pinellas County: It has been a morning of moderate to heavy rain and gusty winds. My maximum gust was 36.5 mph at 7:25 AM. I’m still getting gusts to 20 - near 30. Unobstructed weather stations on the beaches and at St Pete/ Clearwater airport have had gusts to 60+ mph. The rainfall forecast is verifying for 2 - 4 inches. I’ve had 2.34” since Midnight. My lowest relative pressure was 994.7mb at 8:36 AM.

2.8" for today and 5.4" for the event in SW Seminole County. Almost lost power about 7 times, but it's still on. Winds have shifted to have more of a southeast component. Hard to say max winds since my anemometer is too close to houses and trees. Various small branches and debris are all over. Have not ventured out to assess the area yet.

Re: Nicole Conditions in your Area

3.3 inches so far, with most of the heavy rains going from 7am to 11, Seems to be slowing down now.
The yard is underwater, but hopefully most of it will get absorbed. Just cleared a drain so water can drain into my pond.
Winds started getting heavy around 7am, but peaks only show around 30mph. If I was in an open area, it may have it the 40 that was predicted. Looking at the radar and plots, I may be in the eye now, but hard to tell. Temp is 68F, 99% humidity, pressure 29.2

Re: Nicole Conditions in your Area

At noon: 76F, overcast (with light drizzle at times), wind SE 20-25 mph / gusts 30-35 mph. As of noon, received an additional 0.42" 2-day Nicole event rainfall total: 2.70".

While I personally did not observe (estimated) sustained wind greater than 60 mph, nor any gusts in excess of 70 mph at my location 600' from the Atlantic Ocean in Daytona Beach Shores, winds may have been higher early in the morning prior to 4 am (when I woke up from a sound sleep!). Media has reported highest wind gust in Daytona Beach and Daytona Beach Shores at 77 and 85 mph respectively.

From Media:
Richard Tribou, Orlando Sentinel
Thu, November 10, 2022 at 8:03 AM

NASA left its $4.1 billion Space Launch System rocket and Orion spacecraft for the Artemis I mission to the moon on the launch pad at Kennedy Space Center to ride out Hurricane Nicole, noting that it could withstand sustained winds of 85 mph at 60 feet high when vertical at Launch Complex 39-B.

Hurricane Nicole ended up testing those safety limits.

The weather sensors on a tower at LC 39-B record wind data among other things at various heights every five minutes, posted to kscweather.ksc.nasa.gov.

The SLS stands 321 feet tall and the 600-foot-tall tower sensors are as high as 459 feet up. At 4:15 a.m., one sensor recorded a maximum gust of 100 mph. The average wind at that time was 85 mph.

At lower heights, though, the wind was not as severe at that time. At 134 feet at that time, a sensor recorded a gust of 81 mph and sustained winds of 67 mph.

The tower’s tallest sensors saw gusts between 90-100 mph several times between 3 and 5 a.m. but sustained winds more in the 50-60 mph range closer to the ground.

4.06 inches, 69 degrees, steady SSE winds with 20 mph gusts. Clouds seem to be less dense now, so more sunlight is coming through. Not as gloomy as this morning. Hoping the storm is far North by the time it sweeps more bands over the state. I suspect the roads need time to drain.
