Earthquakes, Fires, Floods, and Tornadoes

Yesterday we had a 5.2 Earthquake near San Jose, Tornadoes in Maryland, Fires near Los Angeles, and a Flooding Mississippi river. The damage near Ellicott City in Maryland was fairly bad, the flooding goes without saying, the fires are under control now, and the earthquake was enough to be felt, but not enough to cause major damage.

The weather patterns are setting up for a possible early season, but I'm not betting on it to stay that way, my guestimate for the first named storm is in July.

What do you think, though. We'll hold a little contest for picking the correct day (and put time in just in case someone else picks the same day) and the winner gets nothing, but a good mention on the front page.

July 12th, 5PM is my guess.

I probably will be wrong.

Hurricane Awareness Week 2002 May 19th-25 is next week, and I will be out of town. Make sure to check the NHC's site at that link to see some interesting bits of information from them.
