12z models (I'm not inclined to seek out the 18z's at the moment) still show a ripple from the former 97L. All major globals track it to either LA or TX. So someone's gonna get some rain out of it even if it's only a drop or two. The next thing to watch is the trof east of Florida. As noted by a couple of NOAA Discussions as well as one or two of those models, a cut off low may form and actually retrograde back over the Gulf states. Is this post a reach? Sure.
